The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme is an 8-channel live production switcher for live streaming that features an integrated control panel and advanced broadcasting features. In addition to live streaming with RTMP protocols, you can also run the program over USB as if it were a webcam. This versatile switcher’s eight independent HDMI inputs are compatible with all popular HD signals at 1080p60 resolution. Each input has discrete frame rate and format converters and supports resync for seamless switching between a variety of professional and consumer cameras, game consoles and computer feeds.
With the buttons on the control panel of the ATEM Mini Extreme you can switch, add effects, switch and color degrees, but this can also be done via the software control panel. CCU functions are available for controlling Blackmagic Studio and URSA Mini/Broadcast/Micro Studio cameras from the switcher. The ATEM Mini Extreme supports up to 9 layers, with 4 upstream and 2 downstream keyers, up to 4 chroma keyers, up to 4 linear keyers, 2 DVE with borders and drop shadow, 5 pattern generators and 2 color generators. In addition, this production switcher has HDMI outputs to power monitors and supports up to 16 screens multiview.
Another handy feature of the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme is the 4G and 5G phone support for live productions on location. Via the USB port you can connect your Apple or Android smartphone to use mobile data and it ensures that your stream is not interrupted if the wired Ethernet connection fails. The switcher then automatically switches to the smartphone as the primary connection. In addition, your smartphone is immediately supplied with power so that the battery does not run out.
