Pro Convert 12G SDI Plus encrypts single-link full NDI® streams, 12G-SDI input, while new decoders convert NDI or streaming inputs for 1080p SDI output. The plug-and-play Magewell Pro Convert 12G SDI 4K Plus encoder records video up to 4K at 60 frames per second through a single- link, 12 Gbps SDI interface and converts it to full NDI streams with extremely low latency. The encoder supports up to 16 channels of embedded audio, while automatic input format detection and DHCP-based network configuration eliminate the need for manual setup. With an SDI loop-through connection, the input signal can be sent simultaneously to additional displays or equipment without external splitters or routers, making it easy to use resources in new IP workflows without disrupting existing traditional video infrastructure.
Pro Convert 12G SDI 4K Plus features for live production applications include program and sample counting lights; protocol conversion for NDI control of non-NDI PTZ cameras; and a standard 1/4″-20 camera mount thread. The new model is the seventh Pro Convert NDI encoder, joining previous HD and 4K models with HDMI, 6G SDI or 3G-SDI interfaces.
The Magewell Pro Convert 12G SDI 4K Plus encoder allows users to manage advanced settings, choose between NDI source streams, and monitor decoder status through a browser-based interface; wired or wireless keyboard or mouse; or using two on-device buttons that overlay an intuitive menu on the SDI output. The device supports eight audio channels in the NDI stream, with user control of audio gain, sample rate, channel selection and VU measurement on the screen. Additional convenience and integration settings include image inversion for reverse projector installations; safe area checks to ensure important content is displayed; and remote control of PTZ source cameras.
About NDI ® – (Network Device Interface) software is owned by millions of customers around the world and allows multiple video systems to identify each other and interact with each other. communicate with each other via IP. NDI can encode, send and receive many streams of high quality, low latency, frame-accurate video and audio in real time. This benefits any network-connected video device, including cameras, converters, video mixers, graphics systems, capture cards, and many other production devices.
