The Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme ISO is a production switcher for live streaming. In addition to live streaming with RTMP protocols, you can run it over USB as if it were a webcam. Thanks to the ISO label of the video mixer, you can record each of the 8 video signals separately as MP4 via one of the USB Type-C ports. The 8 video signals have a resolution of 1080p60.
The control panel is easy to use for selecting sources, video effects and transitions. Thanks to the size of the buttons you can use them intuitively. On the rear panel are HDMI connections for cameras and computers, additional microphone inputs, USB for webcam and HDMI ‘AUX’ output for program video.
The switcher can store up to 20 images with fill and key and supports PNG, TGA, BMP, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF file formats. For live recording on location, the ATEM Mini Extreme supports connecting an Apple or Android to the USB port to use mobile data. This can also be a good backup so your stream won’t be interrupted if your wired connection goes down.
If you recorded the original footage from the cameras as Blackmagic RAW camera files, you can relink them and take advantage of DaVinci Resolve’s color grading capabilities.
